Experience Workshop

‘Financial Literacy’

Join Malvern College Tokyo's Experience Workshops and Empower Your Child's Financial Future!

At Malvern College Tokyo, we believe that financial literacy is a crucial skill that should be developed from an early age. We are committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals and have incorporated essential finance education into our curriculum.

On April 2, 2023, we are offering three workshops for different age groups as part of our Experience Programme. Our workshops cover a range of topics, including Needs & Wants, Saving, Budgeting, and Entrepreneurship.

Session 1: 9:00am - 10:30am

For ages 5-7, our “Needs & Wants” workshop teaches children to differentiate between needs and wants, delay gratification, and make better purchase decisions. They will also learn about limited money and unlimited wants. Students will also design their piggy banks, learn the importance of delayed gratification and patience, and develop healthy habits early on.

Session 2: 11:00am - 12:30pm

For ages 8-10, our “Budgeting” workshop focuses on personal finance, budgeting, and planning. Our step-by-step guide will help students learn how to categorize income and expenses, keep track of their budgets, and manage their time effectively. They will also learn about different types of budgets, including personal, event, household, company, and government budgets.

Session 3: 2:00pm - 3:30pm

For ages 11-13, our “Entrepreneurship” workshop gives students a first-hand experience of starting and operating their own business. Working in teams of four, they will make all decisions related to their company, from naming it to deciding how many products to make and how much to charge for them. They will have multiple opportunities to practice leadership, communication, and math skills.

Our workshops are designed to be energetic and hands-on, aligning with Malvern College Tokyo's ethos of cultivating a love of learning from a young age. Our experienced educators will teach children essential finance concepts and skills in an age-appropriate manner.

Don't miss this opportunity to empower your child's financial future. Register now to reserve their spot!
