Academic Excellence at Malvern College Tokyo
As one of the leading IB international schools in Japan, Malvern College Tokyo (MCT) combines exceptional academic rigour with outstanding pastoral care. The school is an accredited IB World School for both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and is a candidate* school for the IB Diploma Programme.
Serving pupils aged 4 to 18, from Pre-Prep to Upper Sixth, MCT opened its doors in August 2023 and currently operates as a day school. As one of the fastest-growing international schools in Tokyo, the College will expand year by year to reach Year 13 by 2027, ultimately providing 950 places for both primary and secondary pupils, including families seeking high-quality international education in Japan.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our ethos is built on lifelong curiosity, taking learning far beyond the classroom. At MCT, we teach pupils to learn, not merely to remember, nurturing the skills and attitudes they need for success in the future-focused IB Diploma Programme and beyond.
Academic progress is supported by:
-
A strong culture of inquiry and independence
-
A robust support network of teachers and specialist staff
-
High-quality classwork complemented by lectures, enrichment sessions, and excursions
-
Ongoing monitoring of each pupil’s progress through independent baseline testing, following best practices in leading international schools in Japan
*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org
