Welcome to Malvern College Tokyo — an Outstanding British-Style IB School Shaped by Tradition, Innovation and Japanese Culture

It is a great privilege to welcome you to Malvern College Tokyo, one of Tokyo’s most distinguished international schools.

As a member of the global Malvern Family of Schools, we inherit more than 160 years of educational excellence rooted in the values, traditions and academic rigour of British independent education. At the same time, our school is deeply connected to Japan—a country whose rich culture, innovation, and deep respect for learning infuse our community with a distinctive character and clarity found nowhere else.

Malvern College Tokyo brings together the strengths of a British-style education, the global perspective of the International Baccalaureate, the opportunities that come from innovation and the clarity and thoughtfulness inspired by Japan’s rich culture. This unique blend creates a school where pupils are encouraged to think deeply, act with integrity and step confidently into new challenges. In doing so, they thrive intellectually, socially and personally.

At the heart of a Malvern education is a commitment to Everyday Excellence—in learning, in character and in the ways pupils contribute to their community. We believe children flourish when they are challenged, supported and inspired. Our aim is to help every pupil excel academically while also developing the resilience, curiosity, compassion and integrity needed for life beyond school.

Through the IB curriculum, we offer a genuinely holistic education—one that sets ambitious expectations in the classroom while recognising that sport, music, drama, service, research, leadership and creative endeavour are equally important in shaping well-rounded young people.

Also central to our ethos is our commitment to providing outstanding pastoral care. We ensure every pupil is known, valued and supported. Our warm, inclusive and aspirational community brings together young people from across the world, helping them to discover their strengths, build lasting friendships and grow into principled global citizens.

Malvern College Tokyo is a place of inspiration, opportunity and ambition. I warmly invite you to visit us to experience firsthand the energy, care and excellence that define our school.

I look forward to welcoming you to Malvern College Tokyo.
